A discussion of music, what defines a generation. I was a teenager during the John Hughes movie epoch - the second British Invasion. This was good. Because when anyone thinks of a second they think of the first, eh? Not only was I exposed to the get-up-and-dance music of the 80's, but the rockin' music of the 60's. I felt 60's music was part of me anyway as I was born on the tail end of the 60s.
What's interesting is I didn't think the 90s were defined as sharply by music as the 80s (and what was around during the 70s; country rock; punk; disco) but then again I was listening to Pearl Jam too much. Also, as I already aligned myself with the music of the 80s I didn't need to find another musical epoch to belong to. People who were teenagers during the 90s definitely have their own music definition of their generation. There were exciting times, and 3 cheers for Pearl Jam for taking on TicketMaster :)
