Almost September. That's when the year takes on a whole new flavor. Kids back in school, weather changing for the better, the beautiful leaves. Also, baseball winds down. I didn't really look into baseball until the past weekend. My twin took me to a Orioles-Twins game for our birthday (Twins get it :)). It started 2 hours late so we only stayed until the 5th inning. Brian Roberts had open heart surgery so we were focused on him because none of us are baseball fanatics, but I've had open heart surgery twice. See, links are kindof cool, eh?
Actually, in 2005 my mom calls me up out of the blue to mention that a player on the All-Star league had open heart surgery. That's the first time I heard of Brian Roberts as I don't follow baseball. I googled him, and lo and behold he's on my hometeam. I finally got to see him in action. Small world.
I was so scared of hurting myself as I don't want to experience a hospital bed ever again. He just must have tremendous spirit or a lot of support. No matter how you spin it open heart surgery is a big deal. It's not like getting your teeth cleaned, you know. Good for him! What he's done is inspiring. I hope he doesn't mind that I think he's a great player because he had open heart surgery. He's a great player even besides that.
