Coffee Musings - 083107

The last day of August - Who'd knew! I was reading, Atonement, and I've read it before, but it's this beginning part that always slows me down. I remember last time it picked up towards the middle, but I don't want to spend the time to get to the middle. I didn't like the ending the last time. So, on to a new book.

This birth year is reading, writing, running. I have not done much writing at all except on my blogs. I need to get back into writing poetry daily, and be serious about it. Find a story that really interests me, and go for it. Revisit the same poem for a week at least until something clicks. Usually, I just write a draft of something, but this time I need to be more focused, and more focused on production. It's time I try my hand as a professional writer. Reading and running will both help with that. Seeing movies will help with that too. Live music would help with that, but I don't have anyone near by to go with me to a show. Hmm, I need to be methodical about this, and I haven't been that focused in years. That's the entire reason for the Next Stop Graduate School blog.
