I think when I eat meat I'm a lapsed vegetarian as opposed to when I become vegetarian that I'm a lapsed carnivore. I'm back to eating meat, as there are more choices, and that's just it. Even though there are some places to eat strictly vegetarian in DC I'm just sick of looking. I want to spend my time reading.

I am reading Wendell Berry's Given. Some of the poems have passionate darts of wisdom, and many read like lectures. People of age always telling us how the real world is, but kindly, so they don't appear as overbearing as they really are. It is simple in language, and focused in explanation. After reading this I think I can try my hand at publishing poetry. Maybe mine isn't as even in tone, but I can tell a good story.
