I had a brainstorm in December 2006. I would bake cookies, and I would send them to someone who would deliver them to shelters. I don't have a car, and I don't live near a shelter so I thought this would be the best way to get my cookies to a shelter. The person who would be the "delivery" person would not only get samples of what I baked, but the shelter would receive a couple batches. It was a team effort, and ultimately, a shelter received home made baked goods. I'm on a particular forum a lot, and 3 people on that forum over the past couple months received, and delivered shipments I sent. I sent a total of 3 shipments. One person didn't even want samples. I'm just really happy that I got a chance to work with these 3 people. I think it was a very good thing, and that we believed in each other, and the project. Well, I haven't had news of any new volunteers so I'm going to stop it.
Because I would send my cookies, I brought less and less to people at work. I've received a couple guilt trips along the lines of "where are the cookies, are you writing the poetry." I really like work, and the people, so I'm looking forward to bringing more into work instead. I feel so appreciated there it's like the warm fuzzies:)
