Coffee Musings - 052807

This is Memorial Day. A day to remember those that are in the service. It is also the 20th anniversary of Rolling Thunder.

Why do we fight a war? I'm reading a book Reading Lolita in Tehran, and it's hit home that I need to write because others can't. That's kindof a cliche way of looking at it, but it affected me that so many activities I would see as no-big-deal were banned. It will be my form of activism. I will need to address what's being deprived of us in the United States given the principals on which it was founded, and the Constitution.

What's also interesting is that under the Ayatollah Khomeini regime, and many others I'm sure, if a person does not agree with the status quo as outlined by Ayatollah Khomeini then that person is against the country, and even God. Now, this is sentiment expressed by the President of the United States, also. That if the war isn't funded, or if he is not supported then that person is unpatriotic. Obviously, Bush's calling is a dictator in the middle east. He should bring all the cowardly politicians with him, as the United States is full of them.

I don't have enough of a grasp to argue coherently on politics, but I expect one day I will, and the transformation will be obvious as I write more, and read more.
