I baked two bar cookies today; a chocolate chip bar cookie, and a chocolate peach bar cookie. The chocolate bar cookie is very good. The recipes are from the King Arthur Flour Cookie Cookbook. I made the cc-bar cookies during the day so I had time to cut them up, and taste them. The cp-bar cookies are still cooling, but man oh man do they smell good. The recipe is actually a chocolate raspberry recipe, but I had Oregon Peach preserves. Instead of walnuts I used hazelnuts which I had on hand. Only 120 more cookies for my cookie poetry project.
What is very good is that I'm posting my poetry I submitted for the Yales Series of Younger Poet's contest in 2004. I just posted the haiku which were first written in 2003. I got it. I read those poems, and I'm just like, Yeah this is what it's about, this form of poetry. They really have so many levels. I LOVE haiku. You can see it them on my blog. Out of all of my poems I'm most proud of those. They take less time, too, but there's is an awareness, and a diligence for them to come. Out of a couple hundred haiku, maybe there's a couple that are like Yeah that's it! I have to be more diligent in writing them.
