It's snowing right now, nice big fat snowflakes like I haven't seen yet this year. There was a snow issue a couple weeks ago, but the main concern was the 1/4 inch of ice that came after the snow dump. I don't think today's snow is the stuff that caused the problems in the midwest yesterday or the past couple days, but I could be wrong.
I live in a garden style apartment. It's good not great. However, I have a porch where I put a little bistro table and chairs, and a cactus my parents sent to me from Arizona. Poor thing is probably cold right now, but I bet the air from the heating system indoors would be just as bad for it.
Right outside my porch is the pine tree. I can stand on my porch, and touch the branches. It continues up towards the floors above me. It adds a little shade in the summer, and it holds snow in times like today. It is just a very poetic tree. I have a table and a couple chairs that I placed near the glass door that leads out to the porch. They are barstool height, and I can look out my window over the branches of the pine tree, and just zone.
I watch the snow, and I watch the cars. I see people on the sidewalk below me, and cars entering the parking lot. It's definitely an urban environment, but it is poetic, as many urban environments are. I think that little area, from my barstool height table to the edge of my porch from where I can touch the branches of the pine tree, is my favorite part of my apartment. I always want to move, there really isn't an urgent need, I just think some things could be better i.e., location, but I won't move into a new place unless I have a view of trees, and a place near a window where I can set my barstool height table and chairs.
