I usually pass Crisfields in Silver Spring on Georgia Avenue near Mayorca Cafe on the way to Whole Foods, but this was the first time in 3.5 years that I decided to try it out. I ordered a crab salad sandwich with fries to go. The place has a diner/dive feel to it. It is clean, and the service seems timely, not exceptionally quick, but the dive part is there because people are sitting on stools in one area, and they probably sit there for a while. And people leisurely stroll in and stroll out. The taste of the crab sandwich was fresh. The bread should have been toasted. That just didn't make sense. Always toast bread for any type of salad sandwich, I mean really. The fries tasted good enough, but they were wrapped in paper so the steam on the way home made them sortof soggy, the type of soggy when vinegar is poured on fries a couple minutes before I eat them. I wasn't sick from the food, and that's a plus. I would go back if I was sitting, because I think they really know fish dishes. I just wasn't impressed by the packaging of carry-out. Too expensive, too.
