Coffee Musings - 061907b

I had a decision to make, and some may say it was vital for my happiness at 2pm on June 19th. It is 93 degrees outside. Some may say . . . miserable. In fact, as I pass wilted co-workers coming into the building, as I exit, I wonder, Dang! The weather must suck!

I walk to the nearest salad place, and I'm ok. Here is where the decision comes in. Should I get back to my work building as quickly as possible? It is wonderfully air conditioned. Or, should I brave a few extra blocks back and forth for an iced latte. Some may see this is a difficult decision, and vital to my happiness at 2pm on June 19th. In fact, the decision to walk the extra blocks for an iced latte was catapulted by a couple people to my right at the salad shop speaking Spanish. Whenever I enter Juan Valdez's shop in DC I hear Spanish, and it's like I could almost enter another way of existance . . . if I knew how to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, I don't, so I just listen to the beauty of the language. With iced latte in hand, and a brutal sun affecting everyone else much more than me as I walk happy-go-lucky back to work, I sit at my desk listening to Italian songs. Life is good!
