Coffee Musings - 071207

I've been reading a couple different books on running recently. One has chapters and chapters devoted to injuries and injury prevention. One basically states that if the form is good, then injuries won't happen. I bet when my legs don't feel good it's because it's time for me to buy new shoes. Once I remember my right leg hurting really bad, and once I bought new shoes it was gone. Also, I think form is key, but according to the second book I have a ways to go to fix my form, and that's discouraging. It's amazing the different theories on running, when it is such a part of life. I remember before my first open heart surgery I was running from the bus to home, and it was REALLY FUN! Next thing I know I get a new bathrobe, and the next thing I know I wake up in ICU. Go figure ;)

There has to be a way that we don't have to be retaught to run. That's a sad reflection on our society, you know.
