I attended my first sock making class a couple days ago - it was very cool! Because of it I ordered a couple sets of needles at StitchDC. I'm working on socks using Kangaroo Dyer/Franklin Sock Yarn distributed by Valley Yarns or Webs. With all the names, I'm not completely sure who made the yarn. Also, I bought some skeins of Karabella yarn in a blue twist so that I can knit another Project Linus blanket. It was a beautiful day yesterday!
In fact, on the metro there were a ton of people who obviously just ran the Marine Corp Marathon. That was incredibly inspiring! I'm hoping to get up to speed for a marathon. More like up to mileage. Anyway, what an accomplishment! I would love to run it next year. A co-worker of mine trained for it, and even was up to the 16-mile training during one of the hottest days/weekends of the year. Unfortunately, her foot bothered her, and she wasn't able to make it. That would suck! I hope to be in the Cherry Blossom Run in 2008, and then a half-marathon in the later part of the year. Maybe the Chicago Half-Marathon? Of course, if I get bored, like I did for the Fremont Solstice 5k, then I'm in trouble. :) iPODS have been created since I did that race, and now I know to train outdoors since the race is outdoors. That was a very bad experience in 2003, and it was just 5k.
